Answer: B. Spare. Published on 10 January 2023, it sold 1,430,000 copies on its first day in Canada and the US and was the fastest selling non-fiction book in the UK.
February 2020
Question: In February, something was shot down over the Atlantic Ocean by the U.S. military, what was it?
- A spy drone
- A U.F.O.
- A weather balloon
Answer: C. Weather balloon. It was spotted flying over America ahead of a planned trip to Beijing by Antony Blinken and was alledgedly a Chinese spy balloon. At 200 feet tall and carrying a payload the size of an airliner, it was finally shot down over the Atlantic Ocean.
March 2020
Question: According to Olga Skabeeva of Russian State T.V., which animal were U.K. residents reduced to eating during March?

Answer: A. Squirrel. This story was reported on Russian TV with the presenter claiming that restaurants were responding to the food shortage by serving squirrel.
April 2020

Answer: A. Leeds. Its latitude is 53.801, then Manchester at 53.480 degrees closely followed by Liverpool at 53.408 degrees.

Answer: A. Hiroshima. The G7 is an informal group of democracies consisting of UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the USA. They meet annually to discuss international security, energy policy and global economic governance. Russia was suspended in 2014 when it invaded Crimea.

Question: The UK had its hottest June temperature in 2023, measuring 32.3°C. Celsius invented a method of measuring temperature, what was his nationality?

Answer: C. Swedish. Anders Celsius lived between 1701 and 1744 and his interests were astronomy, physics and mathematics. The celsius scale of measuring heat was developed in 1741 and was originally calibrated as 0 degrees the boiling point of water and 100 degrees the freezing point. It was after Celsius' death that this was switched.
July 2020
Question: In July, the Orkney Islands voted for what?

Answer: A. Orkney councillors voted to investigate alternative methods of governance as they were unhappy about funding and lack of opportunities. The vote led to speculation that Orkney could leave the UK or become part of Norway.

Answer: C Sweden. 1st place went to Spain with England 2nd in a nail biting match with a UK audience of 14.46 million people.

Answer: C. 92. Keith Rupert Murdoch was admired for his business acumen, starting with running his family's newspaper business The Adelaide News, going on to amas a worldwide print and TV empire.

Answer: A. Bologna. The toppling tower is one of a pair, originally used in the Middle Ages for defence and signalling by the military. The Torre Garisenda was 47 metres high and is now closed for repair.
